DAY 1:
LECTURE / DISCUSSION
Learn the absolute contraindications of
implant treatment, along with gaining knowledge of how
to deal with less than ideal medically compromised patients.
Learn about the uses and indications of a
variety of allograft materials for bone grafting and
guided tissue regeneration procedures.
Recognition and treatment of the Ailing /
Failing implant, along with recare appointments and
Hygiene maintenance.
LIVE SURGERY (Over the Shoulder)
View more complex surgical placements, i.e.
Implants in the esthetic zone, multiple implants in
the lower posterior, and flapless approach techniques; as well as implant
placement in the severely
atrophic mandible, immediately loaded implants, and fabrication of immediate
implant provisionals.
(Surgery patients may vary from case to
case, but every effort is made to have a patient who fits
the above criteria.
However
due to circumstances beyond our control, surgery patients may not be
as above.)
DAY 2:
LIVE PROSTHETICS
View and discuss the prosthetic stage
treatments of various patients, emphasizing the types of
cases from the previous day's surgery.
DISCUSSION / LECTURE
Learn the principles of Immediate Loading.
Progressive Bone Loading.
Staging of Implant Treatment.
The uses of Locator Attachments in Overdenture cases (especially where vertical
dimension is less
then ideal).
Correcting angulation problems with proper abutment preparation.
Screw-retained vs. Cemented Restorations.
Occlusion-Implant vs. Natural Teeth.
Advanced marketing techniques.
Learn to create your own Ultimate Implant Team.
DAY 1 AND/OR DAY 2 (Time Permitting)
HANDS-ON-WORKSHOP:
"SEE, TOUCH, LEARN"
Place your own implants on plastic take-home
education models under Dr. Leigh's supervision.
Learn step-by-step prosthetic techniques on models under the guidance of the
Ultimate Implant Team,
and learn how to choose the component parts for your prosthetic appointments.
*Feel free to bring radiographs and study
models of your own cases for discussion and treatment
planning.
